Résumé
In this actual context of energy transition and climate changes fighting, the biomass notably the byproducts of wood industry and farming dispose of a certain interest. SOFC are a part of future solutions for power generation with high yield and low pollutants emissions. The aim of "ValorPac" project is the integration of a SOFC in a biomass valorisation chain using a gasification process. The first part of work is to develop and build a gasification pilot according to the patented concept by S3D. The technological ingenuity is based on the gasification stage separation (pyrolysis, oxidation and reduction) inside the same reactor. At the same time commercial Ni-YS-Zbased SOFC are tested in lab with reconstituted gas. This part consists in finding in which extent pollutants are going to affect the SOFC operating. It has been shown that the presence of carbon oxides CO2 and CO is not dangerous for the cell. Indeed, CO is an electrochemical reactant as good as than H-2 or even better but only when the percentage of the fuel in the Fuel/N-2 mixture is lower than 27%. After these two parts it will be possible to design an adapted gas treatment unit with the SOFC specifications.
