Résumé |
The present work focuses on the use of plasma-deposited hydrophobic fluorocarbon films for electrowetting-based bio-fluid transport in microfluidic devices. Such films were deposited on Si3N4 substrates (in order to improve the dielectric properties) in C4F8 plasma under optimized conditions. Using protein solutions of different concentrations and pH values, the electrowetting behavior and the protein adsorption on the surfaces of three samples were investigated. Surface physical and chemical properties were studied and correlated with the electrowetting behavior of the samples. It was shown that plasma-deposited fluorocarbon films of appropriate chemical composition (high F/C ratio) can be used for successful transport of biological samples based on electrowetting.
